Ooooh, look at this! I taped a strainer to a pole. Let’s go see what the bottom of the swamp looks like!

It was almost summer time and there were big differences at the swamp. The water was clearly lower, and the grass and other vegetation had massive growth. The last time we came here was less than a month ago, fast changes!

Some things were the same.

The duck family was still there! The great thing about a single duck family in a pond? It’s not a giant gathering of ducks all trying to eat. We got to quietly enjoy watching the family unit move towards us and eat the birdseed we brought.

Interesting watch..the dad came in and ate his portion first then swam off. The mom and the kids then came in and ate while the dad was standing guard (floating guard?) out in the water waiting to scare off any rogue duck that landed in the area.

Ewwwww, Smell This 41 Times!

I stuck in the strainer pole and scooped up some of the bottom. I said ewww, smell this, and had the kids smell it. Then the toddler had me smell her swamp discoveries 40 more times.
