It turns out the kids LOVE Lego skyscrapers. They play together, (or alone) for hours. They follow common sense Lego rules like if one kid builds and ‘claims’ something, the other kid can play with but not modify or break it. Or not to worry about things falling apart on their watch if they were trying to rebuild something, but to not break something ‘just because’.

They had been playing with the skyscrapers for a few weeks (the first one for an extra week or so). They loved it. But when I asked them if they wanted to each smash one with a baseball bat, they were more than excited!

I was happy they came down, and also happy most of it stayed on the table and in larger pieces. It was nice to see the structures I had built stayed relatively intact here and there. I say “I” but even the three year old helped with ‘Dad, do you need more structure?’

Where two building were, now there is one. A much wider one with many more sections for the kids to imagine with.

Chairs they can stand on beside Lego structures taller than them. A spot as creative as they can imagine.
