We had a great time at the Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo Meet a Sloth event! The biggest downside was it was on March break and there was an ocean of school kids there. Man, they make for a crowded event 🙂
It doesn’t take long after getting in to see how much the staff loves doing what they are doing and are so good with the kids; whether it’s answering their questions ‘at their level’ or artfully avoiding questions in order to maintain the flow of the presentations.
Our kids were enjoying the ‘pet store type look’ of the little reptiles in their terrariums, and went down to get hands-on as soon as they saw there was a guy with a snake on the floor!
Mommy didn’t want to touch the snake (Carpet Python) but was able to touch the next animal available, which was a WAY bigger snake (Burmese Python)
The staff from Ray’s told us of their Hamilton location where their animal/kids interaction is much more intimate compared to their traveling shows, sounds like a great visit to make if in the area, we definitely could have handled and interacted with the small critters (and the bigger ones) for a lot longer!
