I don’t want to make their unicycle lessons feel like ‘lessons’. So we bring them out with us to places here and there and get a minute or two more of practice.
You may or may not be a unicyclist if you are reading this. If you are, you would notice how naturally he’s picking his unicycle off the ground and placing it under him. Learning to unicycle is often compared to dropping your unicycle 1000 times then you can ride it…that’s not entirely accurate, but it’s close!)
(He is unknowingly fighting a too-low seat post, which a unicyclist seeing this would have spotted immediately!)
If you would rather practice ballet, go do that instead, we’re really only here to run up that hill over there a few times (notice that I didn’t say run up AND down)
An interesting thing I noticed about this video as the unicycle coach…look how naturally he picks the seat up and gets it under him. He has around five minutes of ‘picking up a unicycle to use it’ experience. It’s already a skill he’ll have forever. (in theory)Learning to unicycle isn’t hard. It’s just doing a bunch of little things over and over when it’s fun 🙂 If you’d rather ballet, practice ballet.
